Art was always a therapy for me, bringing much joy and solace from an often overwhelming world.
My journey through art has seen my work evolve from somber toned and obscure, to bright, light-hearted and whimsical. This shift occurred after completing a Bachelor of Fine Art (Painting) at Melbourne’s Victorian College of The Arts in 1997. I was never one to take myself too seriously, and I soon discovered a whimsical, lighthearted side to my art.
My character ‘Lily’, who developed in my last year at art school, while still somehow tinged with a certain melancholy, represented my desire and need for childlike freedom and expression. (see my early drawings page)
Although it has been a long while it is my hope and intention to resume this favorite hobby of mine once again, sooner or later. With each drawing I ever completed I always wondered why I don’t do it more often!
Thank you for stopping by!
